Can self-employed people get a mortgage in the UAE?

-

Yes. Most UAE banks want self-employed applicants to earn 15,000 to 30,000 dirhams a month, with at least two years of trading.

  • Minimum income: AED 15,000–30,000 a month (most banks AED 20,000–25,000)
  • Trading history: 2 years; freelancers with 2 years of history can qualify
  • Low-doc (bank statements only): usually 60%–65% of the value, depending on your profile
  • Full documents (VAT returns plus company bank statements): up to 80%, up to a loan cap that varies by bank
  • Above the bank's cap: 2 years of audited financials are needed
