Are bonuses and commission counted as income for a mortgage?

-

Partly. Banks usually count about half of your average commission and of bonuses paid regularly for two years.

  • Commission: about 50% of the last 6 months' average
  • Bonus: about 50%, if paid consistently for 2 years
  • Allowances on your salary certificate: usually count in full
  • Variable income is often capped at your fixed salary.
