What credit score do I need for a mortgage in the UAE?

-

Most UAE banks want an Al Etihad Credit Bureau score of about 650 or higher. A score above 700 gets the smoothest approval.

  • 700–900: strong; standard approval and pricing
  • 650–699: usually acceptable
  • Below 650: harder; banks may decline or ask for more

Check your score in the AECB app or on the AECB website. Late payments, high card usage and many recent applications lower it. Pay every bill on time for 6–12 months before applying, and avoid applying to many banks at once.
